Lord Brynveran was a lord of The City who at one time attempted to conceal his true earnings, which likely included illegal income, from The Baron. He was discovered, and punished rather severely. Some years later, when commissioner of taxes Julian Friehalt discovered Lord Bafford's illegal gambling dens, he used Brynveran as an example of what would happen if Bafford continued to cheat on his taxes.[1]
