Lord Ember Rutherford was a nobleman and cousin to Lord Julian Rutherford, with whom he was feuding over ownership of the Bloodline Opal, a valuable gemstone which was in Ember's possession. He resided in the Rutherford Castle, keeping the opal in a basement safe, heavily secured and guarded, and held one of two Rutherford medallions, the other being in the possession of Lord Julian.
Lord Ember was soon to be engaged to Lady Elizabeth, though she did not like him at all.
He was close friends with Lord Clive Warwick, and was deeply saddened by his passing. He considered him his last friend, and cursing the stone he kept, accusing it of dark magic.[1]
