- I just wanted to mention, I think the light colour of the infoboxes is not really suitable for this wiki. It's quite jarring on the otherwise relatively dark pages. I think a darker colour would look better, such as the dark blue used in the contents boxes and so on. Does anyone else have an opinion on this? Lee Wilson 07:00, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- Good point. When I wrote the infobox templates, I took the light blue color from the first infobox created by Sxerks (I think).. and the color stuck. Its actually quite a nice contrast, although a darker color would do better. Play around with the colors if you wish/can. I suggest you do it on a temporary template first, to avoid unncessary updates throughout the wiki, and then once we're all good with it, you can (or I could) update the final infoboxes. -- Tom Jenkins (Reply) 09:05, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
- Basically my opinion is that it's best not to introduce many (or even any) new colours. Designing it with colours that are already in use in the wiki helps it remain in the theme of the site, if you know what I mean. When I saw the current box design, I had assumed it was just default colours taken from a default wiki, because it doesn't appear to fit this one at all. So if I were to suggest possible alternative colours, I would either suggest the dark blue of the Contents boxes, Categories boxes, etc. with white text, or perhaps the sort of bronze colour used along the tops, with black text. Basically, like this:

Personally I prefer the darker middle one because it's easiest to read and fits in with the colour scheme of the site quite well (the border around the image may or may not be necessary). What do you think of these suggestions? Lee Wilson 01:48, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
The "theme of the site" is based on the generic "gaming wiki theme" with only a few colors changed (mainly orange → brown). The box color is from the original Template:Infobox that I copied over from Bioshock a long time ago, it just never got changed. The original(left box) is no good because of the bad contrast between "link colors" and the background. The other 2 look good, give the middle one a try, or should there be different colors for different infoboxes?--Sxerks 02:23, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
