|“||Ahh! Pound me not foul forest thing!||”|
|— Reginald in Act 1|
Reginald is the hero of Ian Cribs' play "REGINALD AND CONANDRA FOREST PRINCESS" which was to be performed at the Old Quarter Opera House on the night in which Song Of The Caverns takes place. He is a Hammerite Novice who has the task of collecting lumber from the forest.
According to the script, Reginald is caught felling trees in the home of Conandra, Forest Princess, who strikes him on the head. Upon seeing each other however, they both fall in love. The story is described as a tragical tale of forbidden devotion, which suggests something akin to Romeo and Juliet.
